CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING TECHNICIAN (LIMITED)
Job Title: Construction Materials Testing Inspector (Limited)
Department: CMT Department
Reports To: Operations Manager


Observes and records data associated with the construction of bridges, buildings, dams, highways, and other types of construction work. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
CMT Technician (Limited) is usually involved in pile logging and/or vibration monitoring activities.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other Qualifications
The CMT Technician must:
• possess a current and valid driver's license,
• take orders well and present a neat appearance,
• be reliable,
• show willingness to make reasonable efforts toward self-improvement by studying technical material provided by Eustis Engineering,
• undergo first aid and safety training, and
• comply with the company drug and alcohol free program and medical requirements.
The position will require overtime, travel, and possible out-of-town assignments.

Physical Demands
Pile logging activities include the following.
• Sit, stoop, or standing for long periods of time during the pile logging activities.
• Being exposed to all weather conditions (rain, cold, heat, etc.).
• Being exposed to extreme noise.
• Can be exposed to insects, small rodents, poisonous plants, and other natural occurring elements.
• Be able to traverse over uneven terrain and walk with equipment between vehicle, piles, and pile installation rig.
Vibration monitoring duties require the employee to do the following.
• Carry, handle, and move a vibration monitor (having an approximate weight of 25 pounds) from location to location throughout the day.
• Sit, stoop, or stand for long periods of time during the vibration monitoring services.
• Being exposed to all weather conditions (rain, cold, heat, etc.).
• Being exposed to extreme noise.
• Can be exposed to insects, small rodents, poisonous plants, and other natural occurring elements.
• Be able to traverse over uneven terrain and walk with equipment between vehicle, and vibration source.
